In Confidence… Part 2

In Confidence… Part 2

Sirens, we’re back! Let’s dive right back into our talk about CONFIDENCE, for our part 2.

We have all heard the saying “fake it ’til you make it”. That can of course come in handy for us at certain times, if we’re under duress and need to power through a short period or situation. There’s a time and place for it, but it can’t be used as a substitute for the real thing… especially if you’re crumbling under that façade and picking yourself apart when no one else is around.

I can’t stress enough how important it is that you’re consistently working on your self love. You’re your own greatest masterpiece, and deserve all the care that you so readily pour into others.

So, how do you even start going about this? What does this work look like, cultivating confidence?

My number one piece of advise is to start with what lifts you up.

What do I mean by that? Simply put, make time for yourself and what you like to do. Is that walking out in nature, with just the sound of your favorite podcast? Is it a bubble bath with a glass of wine and a book? Maybe it’s that creative hobby you’ve shelved in favor of “busy work”, with your projects gathering dust.

I’m asking you to pay attention to your passions. The things that drive you, that inspire you, that fill up your cup. These are the things you should be building into your schedule on a regular basis, and are the first step to building yourself up.

That can feel like a radical shift at first, especially if you’ve tended to be a people pleaser your whole life (I am 100% guilty of this at times too!). You will likely need to put boundaries in place, but you will need to be oh so strict with yourself in enforcing them as well. Practice saying no, which happens to also be a complete sentence, and does not require additional reasonings or justification. This may be the scariest part at first, but it’s honestly an invisible muscle: it just requires that you keep working on it so as to make it stronger. Stay consistent, and stay the course.

After you’ve been doing the work above for a while – tending to your passions and enforcing your boundaries to protect this precious time – you will start to feel a shift in yourself. This could be small at first, but the whole point is that you feel something begin to take root and change. Your mood could improve, you could walk a little taller, you could feel calmer overall. And then, it starts to carry over into other areas of your life, improving and strengthening your positive traits, and helping to heal and integrate your shadow parts.

So, what is number two for cultivating confidence? Now that you are feeling this inside yourself, I want you to integrate it with the outside – your physical home, your body.

This is where the hardest work begins, and where you can have the biggest breakthroughs.

More to come, we will discuss in part 3 soon! Wishing you a fabulous and sexy weekend, sirens.
